Some books just really inspire. Here are 5 that we love:
Rich Dad Poor Dad
By Robert Kiyosaki
This book was so pivotal for both of us. The concepts of how to grow TRUE wealth are presented so simply and clearly that it is easy for everyone to understand. Once you read this book, don't stop, but dive into all the others in the Rich Dad series - starting next with
Think And Grow Rich
By Napoleon Hill
This book was first published in 1937 but don't let that put you off. Napoleon Hill had the incredible opportunity to work with Andrew Carnegie, billionaire industrialist and one of the most influential people of his time. Carnegie commissioned Napoleon to interview 500 of the most successful people of their time and to write a book on the formula for their success. This little book takes the formula and makes it simple enough for all of us to understand. The key is in the title!
4 Hour Work Week
By Timothy Ferris
OK, we were both blown away by this book. Tim Ferris' book is a joy to read! As moms the concept of a 4 hour work week couldn't be better or more appropriate right? Ferris has mastered the art of literally working 4 hours a week or less and living the lifestyle he wants, the other 164 hours in the week. We can all learn from the way he does it and we are determined to do it also. Read this book and join us as we move towards our own 4 hour work weeks! The audio version is awesome also, especially if you need to double task. Check out the audible version here:
Outliers
By Malcolm Gladwell
Outliers is a book about the story of success. Gladwell showcases exceptionally successful people as varied as Mozart and Bill Gates, and asks questions about their culture, the time they were born, the circumstances that surrounded their growth, the unique opportunities that they had available to them and weaves in cultural studies that help us better understand the real and whole story behind the huge successes of these people. Gladwell's take on the concepts in this book are fascinating. We couldn't put it down - this book should be on everyone's bedside table right now!
The Slight Edge
By Jeff Olson
The ideas in this book are all about the small decisions that you make in your life every day, that compounded with time, let you reap big results. For example, if you work out a little every day consistently, will you see the results in a day or two? Most probably not, but with consistency could you see results in a month or two, or a year or two? Definitely yes! This works both ways for both good and bad habits. Small, slight edge decisions, compounded over time, yield massive results. This is a book to be read, reread, and reread again, always learning to apply these principles to all the seemingly insignificant decisions we make every day.
